Catching up -- James is HOME! Go Vote!
I am BACK! Last week was whirlwind of fun and craziness.
We left on Saturday for Norfolk and James came home on Sunday!
I had a perfect weekend and am super sad to be back to the real world!
Let's play catch up!
Steven's classes were cancelled for the whole week as a result of Hurricane Sandy, so he came back home!
We went out as a nerd & prep on Tuesday:

On Halloween night, it was Ballerina night with our homemade tutus!
Steven went with cowboy again since he didn't have another costume:
At Hokie House, our usual hangout!
On Thursday night we were back at Hokie House to catch the Hokie game!
The game was quite depressing, although I had so much fun with all of my friends AND my boyfriend!
I felt so lucky!
Teacher-y girls :)
*Now, we're in Norfolk! James' Welcome Home crew, minus 3!
The most precious sailor baby, with the band & Sesame Street characters:
The Enterprise is HOME!
Happy Birthday and Welcome Home!!!!
My family! Back together again!
James & his girlfriend - they started dating while he was out at sea:
HAPPY!
We went up on the flight deck:

Pre-Halloween Weekend & Color Me Rad
![]() |
| This was actually Thursday...I was so excited to be DT with my boyfriend FINALLY |
![]() |
| LOVE my Ldeezy |
![]() |
| Photobombs galore...all night long |
![]() |
| It was my roommate's birthday on the 28th, so we celebrated that too! |
| Pageant queens - Miss Alabama, Miss Texas, Miss Louisiana |
| Boys |
| Roommates ! |
![]() |
| Joe Dirt, Lumberjack and Western Cowboy...aka boys in plaid |
| I love my friends. |
Then on Sunday, two of my roommates and I ran the Color Me Rad 5K, which I blogged about earlier! It was SO much fun and way worth the $35 fee -- plus it benefited the Special Olympics.
If this run, or any other run similar to it, comes to a town near you -- DO IT! Even if you aren't a runner. Half of the people walk anyway. It's more of an "event", not a race. I had such a blast!
All clean, before we headed out:
The starting line on campus:
Lindz has a smile on her face, even though we had a crazy night the night before and literally slept like 3-5 hours:
The pink station at the finish!
Halfway through...our other roommate and Steven came out to snap a picture:
My momma and I at the finish! She is so rad.

I'm Dreaming of a White Halloween (& SV)
Woohooo, I'm back to internet access! This weekend I headed to PA to spend Halloween weekend with my boy. I drove up on Thursday and on Friday, after dinner with his Grammy at "the shiny place" (favorite local diner) we went to the baseball house's Halloween party. Here we are before we left:
Kind of an awkward picture - I have a major skinny arm going on - but it was the best we could do! We were (a straight haired, brunette) Marilyn Monroe & Joe DiMaggio. SB hates the Yankees - I better put that out there since this picture is out in public! We changed our minds a million times on what to dress up as, but I think it turned out well.
The next morning, little did we know it would look like this:
Snow. Flurries. Not so bad though, right? Wait an hour or so and...
...the next thing I know, we're packed and headed to SB's Grammy's house and he is scraping snow off the car with a cookie sheet. Had to be resourceful!
That would be 6 inches of snow! I seriously thought I was dreaming. It's October, right?! AHH! I like snow, but only during winter and not when I have to drive anywhere. Luckily, SB is a confident, calm and skilled driver and he got us to Grammy's safely. We then stayed inside the rest of the weekend!
She fed us and kept us warm. We were happy :)
She also has delicious smelling candles. This one and a pumpkin spice one as well! Mmmmm.
Sidenote: we watched a show called Puppies vs. Babies. Yes, a bracket style show where they show an adorable puppy video and an adorable baby video and have people vote which is cuter. Genius. This video was the winner!
Hope everyone had a great weekend! I keep forgetting that actual Halloween day hasn't even happened! I'm going to go hand out candy at home tomorrow :)
Lastly, I cannot forget the Sunday Verse:
xoxo,

Halloween, back in the good 'ol days...
I thought I would share some "way back when" Halloween photos since Halloween day is right around the corner! I had a few on my computer already that I posted last year on Facebook. We have probably a million more in photo albums at home.
My family has always loved Halloween...decorating, going to pick out a pumpkin, listening to the Monster Mash CD (a serious favorite), watching Hocus Pocus, and dumping out our trick-or-treat candy - trading pieces, giving the malted candies to Mom. Now that we're older there isn't so much trick-or-treating going on, but we pretty much still do everything else! :) Mom found Hocus Pocus on DVD this year, so that was obviously very exciting having a 21st century version of a great movie!
I also remember being a "Hokie Freak" dressing in as much Hokie gear as possible - around 5th grade probably, a VT cheerleader, a black cat, "cloudy with a chance of rain" in high school with a friend (we wore shirts with cotton balls glued to them and carried spray bottles with water in it...lammeee)...I can't remember the others.
What were some of your favorite Halloween costumes over the years? Are you dressing up this year?
P.S. Next week (when I'm back home) I'll be doing the What's in my bag vlog! Right now I'm visiting the boy, so I don't have my normal bag with me...I've loved watching all the vlogs and I can't wait to share mine.
