Keeping Dry

Is this rain ever going to end?
Had to whip out the bean boots, yet again.
Right now I should be in shorts & sandals. What the bump.
As long as Mother Nature gets all of this out before graduation, we're good.
Keep your fingers crossed for me...

Happy Wednesday, y'all!

Rainy Days and a Blog Award!

Yesterday was definitely one of the rainiest days I've seen in a while. I guess I gotta share a little secret with y'all...yesterday, my mom and I drove up in D.C. My Aunt from OH and my big brother from Norfolk were going to come to the area to spend the weekend, so we made it a family affair! However, I decided to catch the megabus from D.C. to Philly and now I'm spending the weekend with my baseball boy! I haven't seen him since we brought him to move-in which was 4 weeks ago!

Anyway, it rained almost the whole way up to D.C., then as we were driving around the city it was muggy, foggy and gray. As I was waiting in line for the bus, it was pouring...thankfully Momma let me borrow her umbrella, but my poor rainbows got SOAKED.

It rained the whole way up to Philly and then all evening as SB and I attempted to go to the mall & dinner. We kind of just faced it and got really soaked. I, of course, only brought flip flops (whoops) so I might be making a pit stop at the shoe store if it keeps up today!

Wish I had had this outfit instead!

Rainy or not, I'm so glad to be up here. Wednesday/Thursday were very stressful days, with a chaotic day at work & four tests - including my eval tour, which I PASSED! I'm an official Ambassador now.
Anyway, I was definitely ready for a little break and to get out of Blacksburg.

I cannot believe this, but I was awarded the iDig Your Blog Award by one of my favorite blogs Turtles and Pearls!!
Thank the person who gave you the award:
Thank you SO MUCH for this award, Turtles and Pearls! It means so much to me that you are following my blog, and I always look forward to new posts on your blog as well! We seem to have a lot in common, especially our love for our college football teams!
Everyone go check out her blog for some fun posts and great fashion advice :)

Share three random facts about yourself:
1. Yesterday, I think I was more excited to see The Disney Store than any other store in the mall.

2. One of the most important things on my bucket list is to visit each state. So far I've been to 18/50! I don't include where I've only been in an airport...after all, I never technically step foot on the ground.

3. If I had three wishes, they would be: that Maple Ridge would let their residents have pets, for a fridge full of Red Bulls and to have naturally curly hair.

I think those were random enough, huh!?

Pass the award onto five others:
2. Ashley @ Everyday Ashley
3. Meggan @ Lila Grace

Go check out their blogs!

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Rainy Days

I seem to always find myself at Target on Sundays. The reason I remember this is because we have a Chick-fil-a right next to Target and I always say, "Oooo I could go for some Chick-fil-a!" and then I get sad because I remember that they are closed on Sundays! Seriously...this probably happens every other, if not every, week.

So naturally, yesterday, I was at Target. As soon as we (mom, lil bro and I) were in the check-out line, I look outside to see a torrential downpour! I had bought my stuff first so lil bro asked me to go get the car.
*Sidenote: I'm terrified of lightning.
So, I'm running to the car and there are HUGE drops falling from the sky. I think you know it's going to be a bad one when the first drops are HUGE ones. Then, I see a gigantic bolt of lightning and I was BOOKIN' IT to the car. I was practically soaked by the time I got there.
Then by the time I got to them waiting at the door, it was a full on hail storm. Cah-razy!! My mom just got a new car, too, so I was freaking out that it would get hail damage...but what can ya do?!

Anyway, while I waited for it to let up a little so they could run to the car, I was pondering about all the cute rain gear that I didn't have with me, but wish I did!

Wellies/Rain Boots, whatever floats your boat
The ones I have - Classic Yellow from Old Navy...a bargain!
I also used to wear a Pink with White Polka-Dot pair from Target

The ones I wish I had - Hunter Wellies in Pink :)
Rain Coat

The one I have - Columbia Rain Jacket
The one I wish I had - North Face Venture Jacket

Umbrella

The one I have - Brighton "I Wish It Would Rain". I had to take a picture because I can't find it anywhere online! I found this at a shop downtown.

I also have this one - Clear Bubble Umbrella with flowers...for when I'm feeling 5 years old!

The one I wish I had - Vera Bradley umbrella in Plum Petals

What's your favorite rain gear? I'm sure there's lots more cute stuff that I missed :)
