It's almost Halloween! I'm in full black & orange swing and ready to start decorating the house & making some Halloween nom noms. Momma already made some pumpkin bread that was delicious, but I want to do something cutesy :) Here are my ideas, via my trusty friend Pinterest.
Aren't these just too cute?! Thinking of making some for the kiddies at work :) SB also brought me Halloween funfetti to make!! Funfetti is my favorite and I always like to make it for holidays/occasions.
If y'all are interested in a sweet, sweet giveaway, go check out Coffee at Nordstrom for your chance to win a navy blue monogrammed tote :) :) :) Y'all know we can always use one more monogrammed item! **If you are new to her blog and enter, please let her know that I sent you!!! I would appreciate it :)

Thursday Trends: Lisa Frank
Do y'all remember Lisa Frank? I hope so, or else I'll feel a little awkward. This was my Vera Bradley (of sorts) back in the day of Spice Girls and peace signs. Had to have Lisa Frank folders and accessories. I even had the leopard as a stuffed animal!
Anyone else have a Lisa Frank phase?

Thursday Trends: Summer Sales!
The season of summer + the 4th of July holiday means...LOTS of sales! Two of my favorite stores, Loft and Old Navy are having awesome sales this weekend which I want to share with y'all.
LOFT is having a 40% off everything sale! If you get their emails (which are sometimes annoying...I seem to get a bajillion from them!) you already know about this sale. I love when they do "___ off everything" sales because that way no matter what article of clothing I'm looking for, it's going to be on sale! I picked up the Empire Waist Knit Dress in Parrot Red, a black pair of shorts and a peach colored shirt.
OLD NAVY is having a buy 2, get 1 mix 'n match free sale! Basically, you pick out any 3 items in the store (they don't have to be the same thing) and you get the least expensive item for FREE. Amen to that.
I didn't get anything at ON this time...instead, we headed over to Target where I picked up a light V-neck dress and a matching pair of earrings.
Boy, do I love payday :)
Anyone know of any other good summer sales going on?
The other day, SB and I made it to the Roanoke Elderberry's :)
Blacksburg recently lost their Elderberry's...I have really missed it! Instead of trying a new one, I got my favorite smoothie - Mad's Mango. SB always gets "double blue" which is Blue Banana, minus the banana, and double the blueberries :) Nom nom nom.
This weekend I hope to get some packing done & maybe make a trip to Plato's Closet to get rid of some stuff!
Then...my 2nd favorite holiday is here!! FOURTH OF JULY! I am so, so, so excited. I used to be terrified of fireworks, but now it's seriously almost my favorite holiday. I will be absolutely sure to share some pictures :) I also have the day off of work - yippee!
Countdown to Norfolk/James' Homecoming: 15 days. I am spending it in VA and he is in Spain...what!!?

Thursday Trends: Zumba & Pictures
I am currently sitting on the bare floor of my almost empty townhouse watching Billy Madison & trying to ignore my sore arms & legs!
This afternoon, my girl Jessi and I went to her first/my second Zumba class! Have y'all tried Zumba before? I'm sure you have at least heard of it...if not, it's a workout class that's all dance moves! They use all sorts of music - salsa, hip hop, african beats, etc. It's a lot of fun once you get the moves down! It takes a couple of tries to get down what to do. And, holy moly, it is such a workout. I have been a runner for so long, and I still love to run, but every once in a while it's fun to change things up! (Kind of reminds me of the Just Dance games) If you haven't tried it, you should! Jazzercise is also a good class to try - it's a little less intense than Zumba.
Anyway, like I said, the townhouse was once 4...then there were 3...then there were 2...and now there's just me. It's strange being the only one here. I'm used to having Bpatt's laugh carry throughout the entire house or hearing Sarah sing as she blow dries her hair in the morning. I am trying to keep myself busy so that I'm only here at night/in the mornings, that way I don't get too bored! After Zumba I was too tired to go see my Mom & pup so I came home early, made some pancakes, and now here I am!
Tomorrow is the last day of school for the kiddo's! Which means two things: I have to work 5 hours and our summer program starts on Monday (but I don't work until Tuesday)! I love the summer time! Yes, it means longer hours and entertaining the kids longer but it's much more relaxed and less people are in the building. I've enjoyed getting to know all of the teachers and staff members but I am soooo looking forward to "summer"! It feels weird that I've already been on my "summer break" for one month and these guys are just getting started! Our first big field trip is to the Safari Park...I think I'm more excited than the kids are...
Here are some pictures from this past weekend (playing with the pup and graduation):

Thursday Trends: Groupon - and some baseball
Have yall heard of Groupon? If not, I strongly encourage you to keep on reading! If so, you will appreciate this post & check out what deals I'm sharing!
Groupon is a website that gives HUGE discounts on products, services, etc from local businesses in your area and also sometimes online deals! Here is a deal I purchased this morning: $10 for $20 worth of summer apparel at Old Navy!
You purchase the Groupon online, then within 24 hours they email you something to print out, you bring it to the store and you've saved 50% on clothes! There's still about 17 hours to purchase it!
If you want further deals, I encourage you to make an account and see what deals they have for a major city near you. For example, the closest one they have for me is Roanoke, VA (40 minutes away) but the other day, the deal was $5 for ANY burger at Bull & Bones, which is a restaurant we have in Blacksburg.
So you never know what the deal might be! My other Groupon purchase was a $32 full facial (normal price is $64). It's nice because I have until late July to use the facial...you don't have to cram an appointment into your schedule!
Yall should definitely check out Groupon if you haven't already. If they don't have any deals for a city near you, you can still take advantage of the multiple location deals (like the Old Navy one) and the online deals!
On a personal note, I went to go see SB play last night! He was the relief pitcher and came in at the 7th inning - and got the win :)
It was sooooo hot and humid and muggy, but we toughed it out! There were a lot of people there and silly kid games in between innings. It was almost like a minor league game! I got my ballpark hotdog & downed two full water bottles. I love the summer weather, but when it's dark outside I don't want to still be fanning myself with all my might, but what are ya gonna do?! We didn't leave NC until about 11:00 which got me in bed at 3:00 this morning! Yikes! It didn't matter though because he pitched really well & as always, I was happy to be able to see him :)
Off to help Momma in the library for the day before I'm back to work at 3!
happy thursday :) xoxo
