I know this post is a little late in the day, but better late than never, right?  

  Here are this week's questions...all about Fall!
1. What is your favorite Fall activity? Definitely football games and going to the pumpkin patch!!

2. Do you follow a football team? If so which one and why? Of course, my Virginia Tech Hokies are #1!!

I don't watch too much NFL, but I follow the Eagles (Steven's team) and the Steelers (Dad and James' team)...gotta make everyone happy! I guess I'm also a Giants fan, now that they have David Wilson!
3. What is something fun about fall in your area? We are a small, college football town, so gamedays are very fun! Sun is shining, breeze blowing, everyone has on maroon and orange, (traffic is crazy)...there is Hokie energy in the air! I love it.
4. What are your favorite fall outfit staples? BOOTS, skinny jeans, cardigans and scarves. The essentials.
5. What things are you looking forward to most about this coming fall season? Being done with my last fall semester. My last football season as a student! I'm not really looking forward to it, but it is exciting. Also hoping Steven comes to a game! Although the biggest thing is James coming HOME in October!!
6. What is your favorite fall holiday? Traditions? Thanksgiving is my favorite! I like Halloween, but it isn't as fun now that I'm getting older. Thanksgiving is great...cool temperatures outside, warm fires inside, delicious food, leftovers galore, friends, families all together, football games, black Friday shopping...I love it! But mostly the food. Turkey, 'taters, cranberry sauce, rolls...nomz. The past couple of Thanksgivings, I've spent with Steven and his family in PA. I am so thankful for that!

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend so far.Mine has been full of changed plans, surprises and...a new addition to our family!If you follow me on instagram, you have already seen her, but if not be sure to see my post tomorrow!

1. What is your dream job?My dream job is to come up with polish names for Essie....kidding (kind of.)My real dream job is to work with animals! Whether it be an aquarium or a zoo...I love animals and I just think it would be so much fun to play with them and feed them all day! For example, I want to be the girl who does dolphin shows...it would be so much fun!However, the dream job I am pursuing is teaching :) My dream teaching job would be teaching K, 1 or 2.
2. If you had just won the lottery and didn't need to work for money, what would you do with your time?Spend time with friends, family, perfect my cooking, read!, be a lot more organized, travel and (let's be honest) go to Target a lot.
3. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?I wanted to be a teacher. I used to play 'school' with my younger brother all the time. Of course I was the teacher and he was my one and only student - he would go by the alias "Jake"...and what do you know, it came full circle and now that's what I'm studying!
4. What piece of career advice would you give to someone just starting out in your field?For those going to college for teaching, I would recommend finding a school that has a 5 year program! I would also recommend getting experience in different classrooms - different schools, different grades, different teachers. It could surprise you!
5. What are your biggest pet peeves in life, blogging, or at work?Life: Annoying attention seekers and bad drivers.Blogging: Asking me to follow your blog in a comment.At work: Laziness!
6. What are your biggest fears?Not knowing what direction my life is going to go, lightning and heights.

I've seen this post on so many blogs today! I am just loving reading everyone's answers, so I figured I'd share mine! :)

1. How long have you been blogging? And what got you started on blogging? Has your blog changed?I've been blogging since May of 2011, I believe! My roommate and I made blogs just for fun. I had no idea I'd still be blogging today. At first my blog was kind of boring...it's definitely changed more into who I am and what I like! I don't always blog about my life - I'll throw in posts about things/outfits/stores/trends that I like!
2. Did you go to college? If so where, and what did you study?I am proud to say that I attend Virginia Tech! I'm a SENIOR! I'm studying Human Development/Elementary Education. Prepping for grad school next year...

3. Where have you traveled?I've never been outside of the country, but the most memorable trips within the USA for me have been to New Mexico (to Philmont for a 2 week backpacking trip), New York City, Chicago, West Palm Beach, HHI, Charleston, etc.

4. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?A new car! I love my car, but I would love one with better gas mileage. I would then buy a vacation.
 5. What are your 3 biggest pet peeves?1. Smoking. Absolutely disgusting.2. Chewing with an open mouth.3. Wild children in restaurants...jumping in booths, screaming, walking around eating food...it's so annoying! Once a girl literally came up and stood over my shoulder chewing in my ear. Her parents didn't even look/care!!
6. What is your favorite movie?The Notebook or The Sandlot. Or Dumb and Dumber.I like to fall in love, and laugh.
7. What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea?I like beer out of the first three and Water or Sweet Tea out of the second! However, my favorite soda is Coca Cola classic with Dr. Pepper coming in at a close, close second. (And no, Mr. Pibb will never do...)
8. What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time?Go shopping :) I love to shop by myself. I also like watching shows online and going on runs!
9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be?Target! Lots of people are saying this, but it's perfect! They have everything!
10. Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past? Or present.I can't think of a really embarrassing one, but the one that comes to mind is going ALL day with the price tag hanging out the back of my dress. I walked across campus and to my classes with it hanging out until finally a nice girl in Comm told me and I ripped it out!I have a bad habit of trying things on before I take off the tag (in case i don't like it) and then deciding I'll wear it for the day! :/
11. What day would you love to relive again?My day at Disney with Steven :) 

12. If your life was turned into a movie... what actor would play you?I have no clue! Perhaps Jennifer Garner? She is a good balance of sweet/fun/sass/bad ass...which is what I hope for my life, haha
13. What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years?I worked at "Party Central" which is a small party supplies store. I am a master balloon bouquet maker. I also worked at a daycare which I LOVED for about a year until it closed. I also worked at the VT bookstore for a couple of months! Then it was to my current job :) 
14. Show us a picture from high school or college.

15. If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?Either a tropical island, Ireland or Italy!

17. Where do you see your life 5 years from now?Graduated, teaching, living in my own house, puppy (or two) and hopefully planning a wedding or married!  That was fun! Hope y'all learned a bit about me :)

6. Which movie star's closet would you want to raid?I agree with Ashley on this one! Reese Witherspoon!

1. How do you feel about April Fool’s Day?
I think it's strange. I don't like being tricked so a whole day where it's okay to trick me? What the heck?

2. Do you like birds?
NO! Or rather, I like them, but hate flocks of them. When they fly overhead of me I freak out...it's gross! I'm okay with having birds as pets (Steven's family has one) but in town they scare me. Seagulls are also terrifying in a whole other category.

3. How often do you wear your hair in a ponytail?

Not very often. Always if I'm working out, but every day it starts down. Sometimes by the end of the day (especially after work) it will end up in a ponytail but I never put it up like that to start the day.

4. Do you believe in love at first sight?
Not love. Attraction/lust/feelings, yes. I just don't know how you can "love" someone without knowing anything about them!

5. What is your favorite appetizer?
Spinach artichoke dip with pita! NOM.

6. What is your favorite brand of heels?
Uhhh, n/a? I hardly ever wear heels, to be honest! I will for formal occasions but since that is somewhat rare, I don't spend a lot of money on heels. I usually get them from a regular store.

7. Are you a picky eater?
Not particularly! I know what foods I like and don't like...the 'likes' outweigh the 'don't likes' for sure. However, I will say that I prefer my foods not to touch...unless it's spaghetti & peas, then I mix it all together.

8. Is there a tv show you like that nobody ever talks about?
The Little Couple. Bill & Jen are so sweet and such a great couple! Also, Secret Millionaire - I think that's what it was called? I watched it online and I cried every episode. Basically, a millionaire goes to a town/business that is struggling and helps them out and then confesses they're a millionaire and hands them a big, honkin' check. Tears.

9. Do you prefer hot tea or cold tea?
Cold!

10. Gayle or Peeta? (If you don’t know how to answer, read The Hunger Games.)
Peeta. However, I will say Liam Hemsworth is way more attractive.

What is your profession?

I suppose my profession is "student", however I have part-time job as an "Instructional Aide" with Montgomery County Public Schools.

How would you describe your style?

Classic/comfortable/girly

What is one make-up product you can't live without?

Mascara.

If you could be best friends with one celebrity who would it be?

Either Al Roker - I just think he is so jolly and funny on the Today show! - or Reese Witherspoon so I could steal her closet.

What is your dream vacation?

Either a Caribbean cruise or going to St. Lucia! The Bachelor has me hooked on that place.

What magazines do you subscribe to?

People, Runner's World, Glamour and Cosmopolitan (on my phone)

If you could have one special talent {that you don't currently have}, what would it be?

I would love to be able to see into the future! I guess that's more of a super power.

I guess something more realistic would be: I would like to be able to function on little to no sleep. It would be helpful at this point in life! I seriously cannot go to bed past 12:30...I get so exhausted.

What is your favorite breakfast food?

Waffles and strawberries. Nommm.

If you could do anything, what is your dream job?

My dream job is to teach 1st grade.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Staying in my pajamas all day!

That and going to our self-serve frozen yogurt shop.

What is the best piece of advice you received and who gave it to you?

I don't remember word for word, but it was about finding the right guy and following my heart and listening to God. This was before I was dating Steven.

My older brother gave it to me in a note before he left for boot camp.

Friday's Fancies & Get to Know Me

I've got some time to spare so this post is going to have a little extra :) Thank you in advance to those of you who make it through the whole post! :)

First - linking up with {av} @ {long distance loving}! Her blog is one of my favorites. Even if you can't relate to a long distance relationship, that isn't all her blog is about! For example, the Friday Fancies :) Definitely go check it out!

This week's theme is Best Foot Forward. So I might be obsessed with bows, and maybe I can't decide between gold & silver, but these are the shoes (and accessories) I would love to pair with that dress! Y'all go hop onto Polyvore & link up!

Next...I've seen a lot of bloggers doing "get to know me" questions for their newest followers. I think this is a great idea! I know when I find a new blog I always try and read a few posts back to try and understand what's going on in that blogger's world. I've been looking for questions to use and I'm going to borrow Pink Zin's questions that she posted this week! Feel free to join along in this, too :)

1. What time did you get up this morning? Set my alarm for 9:30! My brother was leaving today so I wanted to make sure I was up in time to say bye.

2. How do you like your steak? Medium well. I hate to see pink but I can't stand it burnt.

3. What was the last movie you saw at the theater? At the big theater I saw Young Adult. At The Lyric (our $5 movie theater downtown) I saw Puss in Boots! Definitely liked Puss in Boots way more. It was so funny!

4. What is your favorite TV show? Modern Family! I laugh so hard watching that show. The show that I love but isn't on anymore is Friday Night Lights. I'm currently watching it on Netflix! It's so good. I also really like the medical shows (Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice), Desperate Housewives, The Bachelor and American Idol!

5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? Ideally on some tropical island, but I would miss my family.  Realistically, somewhere in the South. I really love the North Carolina coast and Charleston, SC.

6. What did you have for breakfast? Oops. Nothing. Actually, I had a molasses cookie. I made them last night! I'm really bad about skipping breakfast...I'm just not that hungry in the mornings! It's something I am working on.

7. Do you wear glasses or contacts? I've worn glasses since kindergarten and contacts since 6th grade. I primarily wear contacts throughout the day unless I'm sick or being lazy. Once I wore my glasses to work and the kids were in shock! It was pretty funny...they said I looked smarter!

8. What food do you despise? I don't particularly like sushi, mushrooms, olives or anything very hot/spicy! I'm a wimp.

9. Favorite Place to Eat? The Cheesecake Factory! My favorite place at home to eat is either Sal's or Olive Garden....I love my Italian food.

10. Favorite dressing? Caesar is my go-to...I'm not too fancy! I also really like apple and raspberry dressings, though.

11. What kind of vehicle do you drive? Jeep Compass. However, I don't drive to school! Talk about stressful...I take full advantage of our bus system for that! I'm so thankful for it - saves me lots of money on gas and time/stress finding a parking spot!

12. What are your favorite clothes? Comfy clothes...jeans, solid tee, cardigan, scarf. Yoga pants, cute t-shirt. In the summer I would love to live in a sundress and flip flops everyday!

13. Where would you visit, this weekend, if you had the chance? The Outer Banks!

14. How many tattoos do you have? None.

15. Where would you want to retire? Close to my family!

16. What is your desktop photo? I change my background all the time depending on time of year/occasions/etc! Currently it's this picture that I found on Pinterest:

 

 

17. Where were you born? Norfolk, VA. We were living in Va Beach at the time.

 

18. What is your favorite sport to watch? Baseball :) However, football is a close 2nd.

19. How many siblings? Two brothers!

20. Favorite pastime/hobby? Blogging, Pinterest, Scrapbooking, cleaning my room, shopping, watching shows/movies on Netflix.

21. Coffee drinker? Not a huge one! I do frequent Starbucks, though...

22. Are you a morning person or a night person? Morning person! I love sleeping in but it's much easier for me to wake up early than stay up late. I also love getting stuff done early rather than waiting around all day. During the semester, I go to bed by midnight almost every night! Grandma status...

23. Do you have any pets? Yes...I guess technically she belongs to Mom, but she is still my baby that I love to spoil!
