Thank You Veterans

Today, I am thankful for all of the men and women who have served in our military, are currently serving in our military, and will serve in the future. I am especially thankful for my family members who have served and my brother who is serving.

Friday Five

1. TGIF!

I am so glad it's Friday and I'm so glad to have basically nothing planned for this weekend. I need to rest, recuperate and catch up on work!
2. Love my Hokies

We suffered a heartbreaking loss last night on my last Thursday night game. I had high hopes up to, literally, the last :30 seconds. I guess that's saying something -- at least we weren't blown out of the water! As always, I'm proud of our team and proud to be a HOKIE!

5. Thankful

...for my job! I absolutely love my school, my coworkers and my kids! I am so lucky to get to spend my days with such neat kids who are all so different and so special!

Thankful Thursday & VPI

...for my warm home, my warm car, my warm clothes & the warm souls that I call my friends and family! I am truly blessed every day and I don't take enough time to stop and think about how lucky I am to have heat - warm socks - a cup of hot cocoa - etc. Such simple things, yet when they are gone, they mean so much more. Especially during the recovery period from Hurricane Sandy, I am keeping all of those without power, fresh food or a warm bed in my prayers today.

Today is crazy busy for me -- internship, test, class, work, THURSDAY NIGHT GAME! The last one for me as a student...bittersweet, to say the least.

Praying that my Hokies step up their game tonight and give FSU the true Lane Stadium experience. As always though, win or lose, I'm a proud Hokie for LIFE!

I love handwriting! Whether I'm taking notes, writing a list or composing a letter, I like to take my time and make my writing neat and legible! Messy handwriting just makes me anxious.

It's so interesting to see how different people write -- uppercase v. lowercase letters, different forms of 'a', small/large letters, cursive or non, etc. It's one of those things I find myself identifying people by -- it's so unique!

It's not perfect, but that's what it is! I'm trying to improve my handwriting before I become a teacher. Being in kindergarten is helping with that since we practice handwriting & the proper ways to write our letters and numbers!

Today, I am thankful for the opportunity to go to one of the greatest universities in the country.  Each day I feel blessed that I was able to go to college following my graduation from high school and I am looking forward to May when I will receive my degree! I'm thankful for all of the professors, faculty and staff members, teaching assistants, bus drivers, volunteers, and the entire student body for making Virginia Tech the special place that it is today.

Catching up -- James is HOME! Go Vote!

I am BACK! Last week was whirlwind of fun and craziness.

We left on Saturday for Norfolk and James came home on Sunday!

I had a perfect weekend and am super sad to be back to the real world!

Let's play catch up!

Steven's classes were cancelled for the whole week as a result of Hurricane Sandy, so he came back home!

We went out as a nerd & prep on Tuesday:

On Halloween night, it was Ballerina night with our homemade tutus!

Steven went with cowboy again since he didn't have another costume:

On Thursday night we were back at Hokie House to catch the Hokie game!

The game was quite depressing, although I had so much fun with all of my friends AND my boyfriend!

I felt so lucky!

Whew! I am so exhausted but so happy and blessed to have my brother home, safe and sound. Today I am thankful for all of the men and women in our military! God Bless them!
