10 Day You Challenge

You know me...always up for a challenge.
Plus I love to have excuses to blog! Tonight (we're pretending it's still Monday) is 10 secrets.

Shhhhhh...

1. I used to be terrified of flying on a plane, but now I love it. I actually enjoy hanging out in airports...weird?

2. I love having my hair done. I hate to get it cut, but I do it anyway because I love having other people wash it and brush it.

3. I always have my toenails painted. Always.

4. I don't like sleeping with any doors or drawers opened. Close 'em up.

5. I've never seen The Christmas Story. According to SB I am a sheltered child...but it's true!

6. I am dying to get away from Blacksburg. I absolutely love it here, but I'm secretly jealous of everyone who gets to "go away" to college. When I graduate I hope to explore a little bit.

7. I cry at movies all of the time...both big girl movies and animated ones. I am such a baby!

8. Flocks of birds creep me out and if they fly over head of me...NOT okay.

9. I learned to drive on a manual car and I am so sad that we had to trade that baby in. There is some powerful feeling in driving a stick and I miss it.

10. If I approach an odd number of stairs, I must start and end on my left foot. If it's even, I start with my right and end with my left. Do. Not. Ask. Why. I'm just strange!

That's all folks :) Join in if you'd like! I've seen this on a couple of other blogs. I would love to read your responses!! Tomorrow is loves :)

Back to School :)

Today is the first day of my junior year!

VT campus
Proud to be a Hokie
Can't wait for footbawwwllll!!

Although I sometimes wish I could be in a different town than where I grew up, I am happy to be at Virginia Tech. I have two years down and hopefully only two to go before I head to grad school! I desperately wish VT had a 5 year teaching program, but that ain't gonna happen.

Today my class load isn't too bad, but I have work 3-6. Tomorrow I have four classes and I'm not done until 8:00 pm...boo!
I'll let y'all know later in the week how everything goes :) So far, I have had one professor who is OBSESSED with Harry Potter. I think I can live with that.

On another note, I think I'm going to start a 101in 1001 challenge. I saw this idea on several blogs and I am dying to see if I can do it. If I start today, August 22, 2011, that means I will have until May 17, 2014 to finish my list. Think I can do it?
I'm going to start my list later and I'll post it once I have it finished :) I might also make a junior year goals list...or maybe combine the two!

I'm sitting under a tree and acorns are falling everywhere and I don't want to be hit in the head - so I'm heading inside! Good luck to everyone else starting fall classes :)

Sunday Verse

It is God who arms me with strength
   and keeps my way secure.
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
he causes me to stand on the heights.
He trains my hands for battle;
my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
- Psalm 18:32-34

Friday Fun: New Movies

I've been to a few movies recently, (The Help...Crazy, Stupid Love), and I left feeling just as happy with the previews as I was about the movie itself! Here are some upcoming movies I'm excited about seeing:

(Not all of these were previews from those movies)

NEW YEAR'S EVE: Holy moly, I get chills whenever I see this preview. This movie is full of awesome actors and just looks so good! I love when they do multiple story lines.

HAPPY FEET TWO: Fun fact...I love cartoons. And penguins. The first one is such a good movie and I think this one is promising as well!

TOWER HEIST: Haven't seen Eddie Murphy in a while, but this looks like it could be a good one. I love comedy/action movies, just like The Other Guys.

PUSS IN BOOTS: Who didn't love his signature sad face in the Shrek movie?! Like I said earlier, I lovvvve cartoons so, naturally, I am excited for this.

Melts my lil heart

THE VOW: Again with the chills. Rachel McAdams + Channing Tatum + romantic drama makes this Nicholas Sparks-esque movie at the top of my list!

What do y'all think? Did I miss any good ones? (Besides Breaking Dawn...but I'm trying to not sound like a Twilight freak.)

happy weekend :)
