Influenster Sweetheart VoxBox Review

This past week I received my first VoxBox, the Sweetheart, from Influenster!
To find out more about Influenster, click here! It's a great place to share advice and tips on different trends, products and places!

I was really excited to get my first one in the mail and couldn't wait to see what was inside.

I found:

Olay Fresh Effects {Va-Va-Vivid!} Powered Contour Cleansing System
Olay Fresh Effects {Shine, Shine, Go Away!} Shine Minimizing Cleanser
Secret Clinical Strength Stress Response
Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray
Skinnygirl Daily On-The-Go Bars in Coco-Nut with Peanut Butter

I love the cleansing system - you put some cleanser on the brush and then turn it on. It starts to vibrate and you move it in circular motions over your face and then rinse. You can use it in the shower!

The Secret Clinical Strength deodorant smells SO good - it's serene citrus scent. This is a solid and glides on nicely.

I haven't used the texturizing spray yet - since these days it's too cold/windy for my hair to look good - but I will SOON!

The Skinnygirl bar is quite good! It's 180 calories, which isn't so bad, and is natural, kosher and high in fiber.  It also only has 8g of sugar and has 8g of protein. I'm anxious to see what other flavors they offer!

I am so happy with my first VoxBox! I'll definitely be trying more of the Olay cleansing line :)

Note: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Current Obsessions

1. Tracking my Erin Condren Life Planner
First of all, I SERIOUSLY hope you've taken advantage of the SUPER nice coupon Erin Condren has given her fans! Until the 28th you can use the code XOXO20 for $20 off ANY order!! You can only use the code once, unless you're me and you buy something and then have your mom buy you something else on her account ;) I am twiddling my thumbs waiting for my life planner to arrive - it has been shipped! It was shipped on Friday. I also got some notepads -- the ones that are $20...aka I only had to pay for shipping. BOOM.

2. Infinity Scarves
I know these aren't a "new" fad by any means, but I am just loving on them recently.  Old Navy and Target have some really cute ones right now! I am trying to limit the number of days I wear them because if it were up to me, they'd be on EVERYday.

3. Patagonia Re-Tool Snap-T Pullover
Another deal I scored this month was on a pullover from Patagonia! I scored this during their end of winter sale and it was down to $71 - normally $120. Still a little pricey for my college student budget, but I had just received my tax return in the mail and thought - heck - Happy Valentine's Day to me!
Still fighting with how to wash it though...I washed it on it's own, then tumble dried...it was sopping wet!

4. Cadbury Mini Eggs
Now that Valentine's Day is over and St. Patrick's Day isn't a big "candy" day, Target has their aisles coated in pastel pink, green and yellow all ready for Easter! Which I can' believe is almost only one month away - March 31st. I just can't help myself when I see these little eggs on sale. They are definitely in my Top 5 candies & worth an extra 20 minutes at the gym.

5. Baseball Season is HERE!
Steven traveled to UNC Wilmington this past weekend for opening weekend. I cannot believe it's already time to get into baseball mode! I was really bummed they didn't open at Davidson like they usually do, because I wasn't able to see the games.
Hopefully come March I can make it to some games! And, at least he still has one more year so I'm not thinking "This is the last time....." quite yet. :)

What are you obsessing over this week?

I have an Influenster Box review coming up! Woohoo!
Happy Tuesday :)

Sunday Verse

Happy Second Sunday of Lent!

I've been staring at this ever since I came across it on Pinterest.
It rings true in so many ways for me..."what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
I actually have chills.
Fingers crossed I'm back to regular posting this week! Hopefully during the Oscars I can catch up on scheduling some posts. I think that is going to be my trick!

Who is your pick for Best Picture this year?? The only movie I actually saw was Silver Linings Playbook - and loved it - but I know Argo has been winning a lot in the other award shows! We'll see!

Race & Movie Recap!

On Saturday I ran my first race of 2013! The Blacksburg Classic, right here in town.
The race had two distance options - 5K and 10 mile. I chose to run the 10 mile as training race for my half-marathon.
The weather was chillllyyyyy and there were flurries falling during race time.
However, I had my new Target capri tights on, ready to go, and was overall happy with my performance! I wanted to finish around 1:30 and I ended up (my watch said) 1:30:41 which was about a 9:03 average mile. I'm not sure what time my chip recorded, but I'm sure it was slower than that since I started behind the technical start line.
I didn't want to "race" this race, but rather take it as a training run. I think I definitely accomplished what I wanted to.
Mom was there walking the 5K and was at the finish line to cheer me in! That is definitely one thing I miss about racing - the finish line is the best.

On Sunday, Mom and I went to see Safe Haven.
Now, I am a huge Nicholas Sparks fan so I was really excited to see this movie - especially because this book was one of my FAVORITES!
For me, the movie did not disappoint.  I think the actors were perfect for their roles - especially creepy Kevin - and it stuck to the book pretty well.
If you haven't read the book or seen the movie, I suggest reading the book first, of course :)
However, I am interested in hearing a review from someone who did NOT read the book and saw the movie first.  There is somewhat of a twist at the end that I wonder if people saw coming or not! Obviously I did since I read the book, but I'm not sure it would be clear if you hadn't.
Either way, I definitely recommend this movie!

Have you seen Safe Haven yet? What did you think?

Hope y'all have a great week - and if you're lucky enough to have today off, have a great 3rd day of your weekend!

Valentine's Day & Grad School

I hope y'all have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
It's important to realize this holiday isn't just about being lovey dovey with a significant other.
To me, it's about celebrating anything in your life that you love or that represents love in your life.
Yes, that very well could be a significant other. I sure do love mine -- even if we aren't able to spend this day together.

But for me, love is a lot of other things.
Love is:
-pink & red m&ms
-puppy snuggles
-finding time to call your family
-snagging the last of your size in a beautiful shirt
-hugs from five-year-olds
-finishing a good book
-remembering birthdays
-father-daughter dances
-the smell of rain
-reading to a child
-cuddly kittens
-sending snail mail
-a homemade gift
-a wordless hug
-singing at the top of your lungs in the car
-a strand of pearls
-a vanilla scented candle
-taking a walk together
-telling someone they are appreciated
-adopting a rescue animal
-a random act of kindness

What does love mean to you?

I certainly wish I could spend today with my valentine, but instead I'm going to celebrate in kindergarten! I am very excited :)

I'm alsooooo excited because I finally heard back about graduate school!
I was accepted to Mary Baldwin College in Virginia into their Graduate Teacher Education program!!
I am thrilled to have this opportunity. I'll start the program this summer and be done in 2 year - with my masters degree & teaching license! AH!

It's definitely been a good week on my end!

Have a sweet, loving day! Happy Valentine's Day from me to you!

My Valentines & Other Fun Ideas

This past weekend I spent some time putting together my valentines to hand out to the kids at my school! I made 20 for my precious kindergarteners & about 50 for the kids who come to E2 which is the program I work with!
I got my inspiration from Pinterest (didn't see that one coming, did ya) but made the labels myself just using Microsoft Word - print, fold, staple.

They say, "Will you o"fish"ally be my Valentine?" with Sweedish Fish
&
"I'm "bursting" with happiness that you're my friend!" with Starburst (Fave Reds, of course)

I got the bags from Target in the gift wrap aisle -- all in all it was easy to do & I think they turned out cute! Although I'm sure the kids will blow by the labels & gobble up the candy ;)

Here are some other cute ideas via Pinterest:

It's times like these I just adore working in an elementary school :)

Happy Tuesday, y'all!

Happy Thoughts

This week has been exhausting.
I had such a good weekend in Fairfax, but when you travel and then jump right back into the school/work week, you don't have time to catch up on anything - especially sleep.

Anyone else feel like they need a weekend to recover from their weekend??

I'm feeling sort of stressed/anxious/unsure about a lot of things.
I am turning to these mantras this week:

{things will work out}

{i have so much to be thankful for}

{all I can do - leaving the rest up to God}

{God has a plan for me -- good things will come into my life at the right time}

{ain't that the truth}

Have a SUPER Thursday!

Friday Five!

Hey y'all! TGIF!!

1. Happy February!

I have a good feeling about February.  Short 'n sweet month. Plus, Valentine's Day!

 2. Hitting The Road

Nothing too exciting. Steven and I are going to meet halfway for the weekend in Fairfax and I'm bringing my roommate to stay with one of my former roommates at her apartment in Arlington! She goes to GW for graduate school which is where my roomie wants to go! She's going to check out the campus/area and see what it's like! Although we're already sure she'll love it.
As for me, I'm still waiting on graduate school news...waiting is TOUGH!
Anyway, I'll be gone for the weekend enjoying a baseball-free weekend! Can't wait! Last one for a long, long while.

3. Red Velvet Puppy Chow

WOW! I love puppy chow. This takes it to a new level.
Check out the recipe here! I think I'll try and make this!

4. Puppy Fever

I almost got a puppy this week, but it ended up not working out. Now I have puppy fever!
I am desperately in search of some sort of white Bichon, Poodle, Maltese mix! Either a Bichon mix or a Maltipoo! The puppy I was going to get was a small (5 lb) poodle mix. She was so precious.
Let me know if you know any who need a new, loving home ;)

5. Super Bowl XLVII 2013

I gotta stick with my boy Tyrod//the east coast on this one...GO RAVENS!
Will you be wearing red or purple on Sunday?

Have a great weekend!
