Happy Monday!
I'm back from a wonderful, fast-paced, baseball-filled weekend!
Lehigh finished the weekend 2-2 which isn't too bad. They played Davidson and Fairleigh Dickinson.
I always get so nervous when Steven goes out to pitch...I can hardly talk to anyone until he is off the mound! I'm just hoping he throws well, hoping a line drive doesn't go straight for him and hoping he has a fair umpire behind the plate who doesn't rob him. I'm also hoping that his teammates in the field are on their toes!
Steven was on the mound twice this weekend (he's a reliever) and he did great!
Opening weekend is always fun because the guys are [somewhat] nervous but still ready to play and you get to see all the new freshmen and attempt to learn their names.
On Saturday night we went to dinner at Jeffery's with the whole team and the other families that came down for the weekend. It was a lot of fun -- unfortunately I didn't get any pictures while we were there!
That's when I have to quiz myself to see if I can name all of the new players in their street clothes...it's hard when they (mostly) all have buzz cuts and similar plain shirts on! Although this time a few had some creepy mustaches they apparently lost bets over (or something like that) so they were easy to remember.

All in all it was a great weekend - but it went by way too fast!
Also, the cherry trees on campus were blooming & gorgeous!
Here we are before he boarded the bus for the ten hour drive back to Pennsylvania!
It all just makes me more excited to go to California on Saturday!! I will be there for the two games on Sunday and one game Monday night. I can't wait!
Any other baseball girlfriends out there sharing in my excitement?
Have a wonderful day!

ReplyDeleteI love reading about another baseball girlfriend!! I held this title for EVERY single year that my fiance` and I have been dating. Yes, that would be 8 years and he played baseball every one of them. 4 HS and 4 college. I think my butt is permanently imprinted with a bleacher pattern. It's so great that you support your guy! This is our first year with no baseball.. kinda weird but I guess it means were growing up! Enjoy it while it lasts :)
